FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. January, 18.
Police of Flagstaff, AZ report that a local woman successfully used pepper spray to defend herself against a rapist.
A man tried to sexually assault her in her home in the early morning hours.
Police say the woman was on the couch in her apartment when a man appeared in the room behind her.
The man grabbed her and forced her up against a wall, but she had managed to pull her pepper spray from her purse and sprayed him twice in the face.
The man ran out the back of the apartment.
As officers were interviewing the woman, 21-year-old Alex Hink of Flagstaff drove up and she pointed him out to officers as the assailant.
Hink later admitted the assault and was booked on charges of burglary, attempted sexual assault, first degree trespass, fleeing from an officer and DUI.
The pepper spray was given to the young woman by Talley Security. Talley Security donates pepper sprays and stun guns to local women who work at night and must walk to their vechilces or homes late at night.
